 A Letter To My Husband
Here is what I wrote to my husband!
My dear Willard,
I am sorry to have to put this in paper to you, and not in person, but I'm a coward, and it is done. You may have noticed some things missing from the house. I have taken them. They were mine to begin with. I haven't taken anything that was "ours" or that was yours so don't bother looking.
I think we can both agree that our marriage has been falling apart for a long time. This is the final straw. I have discovered that I am a lesbian. And I am in love.
I met Roubie three months ago, and have been secretly seeing each other ever since. I am so happy with Roubie, Willard, I really am. I hope you can forgive me for what I have done, but the truth is, I have come to terms with my actions, so all that I can do is wish you well.
You'll find the divorce papers on the kitchen table. Deal with them when you're ready. All they need is a signature and for you to seal the envelope.
I did love you, Willard, but I have moved on. I hope you do so as well.
Life is love after all. We must do what we will to find it.
With respect and friendship,
Karen
